The Sezam method

Mapping a micro-market in 5 passes.

A field method, proven on dozens of local SEO projects across French-speaking Switzerland, then automated end to end.

The principle

Reading the invisible signals

A micro-market isn't only a village of 6'000 inhabitants: it's also a neighbourhood of a big city, or a narrow specialty across a whole canton. Anywhere demand is too thin for Ahrefs or Semrush to see it — "volume: 0" — yet real. Sezam reconstructs the map of that demand from the only signals that genuinely exist at this scale: your Search Console, Google suggestions crawled in depth, and the questions your clients actually ask.

The process

Five passes, from raw data to brief.

Pass 01

What Google already knows

The client's proprietary data — the kind no one else has.

  • Search Console, 16 months — every query already seen, even at position 45. Read-only OAuth or CSV import.
  • Questions from the field — one link on the client's home page: the questions asked over the phone become queries.
  • Matomo (optional) — the site's internal searches.
Pass 02

Google Suggest, crawled in depth

What people really type, locally, today — explored systematically.

Seeds × modifiers × a–z × questions = 400–800 expressions
  • Deduplicated, tied back to their original seed
  • Slow, throttled crawl, monthly quotas per project
  • The AI can suggest the seeds: it analyzes the site, the sector and the target regions
Pass 03

Volumes and CPC — without depending on them

The figures are used, never worshipped: Keyword Planner or DataForSEO import (volumes, CPC, "People Also Ask").

A high CPC on a local query = commercial intent the advertising market has already validated.
Pass 04

Competitive analysis

The angles already taken — and above all the ones still open.

  • Crawl of declared competitors: sitemap, titles, H1/H2, in the background
  • Their recurring headings join your findings
  • Their site structure is compared with yours
Pass 05

Prioritization and editorial brief

Every query receives an opportunity score 0-100, built for micro-markets.

  • Intent and local relevance ranked by the AI
  • "Low-hanging fruit" bonus (already ranking but poorly placed), high CPC, question from the field
  • Penalty for national queries that are too competitive
Then, in one click: the brief — H2/H3 structure, questions to address, sector ethics. As a PDF under your brand or Markdown.

And then

Closing the loop: proof of ROI

Mark your published pages: Sezam tracks their real Search Console performance — impressions, clicks, position — month after month. You no longer promise your client traffic, you prove it.
